Unfortunately, due the volcanic cloud from Iceland, José Amaral Lopes of the EU Commission and Petra Kammerevert of the EU Parliament were unable to participate in the session. However, Ivor Davies and Yvonne Gimpel headed a very interesting discussion. 

There was perceived to be a focus on creative industries that are seen as having economical potential. Ivor Davies’ conclusion was that there is a shift from advocacy centred around institutions to advocacy centred around specific topics. This can be seen as an opportunity for the EMC and the session heard some positive examples on past and future advocacy initiatives.
