FERA position on Creative Europe
On the occasion of the Council meeting of Europe’s Culture Ministers in Brussels on May 10th - 11th, film directors across Europe have written to their own Minister about the Creative Europe Programme, proposed by the European Commission in November 2011.
Filmmakers and film professionals in most European countries have already benefitted significantly from the current MEDIA Programme. The new Creative Europe Programme could further assist national film sectors in finding European and international partners and audiences for their films, and play a crucial part in helping them adapt to the digital shift.
Among the 21 Culture Ministers who have so far received letters from their national film directors are Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
