A busy year for EMCY

Dear EMCY readers,

2016 was again a busy year for our member competitions as well as for EMCY itself.

With the help of EU Funds (Erasmus+ and Creative Europe) and new partners, EMCY was able to launch new projects. Also EMCY has been associated to a project of the European Music Council (EMC) for a new EU project STAMP (Shared Training Activities for Music Professionals). For a concert tour and a master course on contemporary music with the Ensemble Modern (hyperlink) EMCY prize winners will again participate in Epoche f.

Promoting young talents, exchange and sharing expertise is the main objective of EMCY. In 2016 EMCY worked with success in finding concerts and master classes opportunities for its member’s prize winners. In total 27 prize winners from 15 different countries were promoted this year.

We are happy about two new members who joined EMCY in 2016 and new contacts with interested competitions were made, who will be visited in 2017.

EMCY has also been busy working on a brand new and more user friendly website, and we are happy to announce that in February 2017EMCY´s new website will be launched! We would also like to inform you the EMCY office will be closed from December 20th 2016 until January 9th 2017.

I particularly want to thank our Secretary General for running our office smoothly and our European volunteers in Munich.

In the name of the EMCY Board and the Secretary General, I want to wish you a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Paul Scholer
EMCY President
