EMO News: Election of a new presidium at the EMO General Assembly

EMU elects new presidium

The General Assembly of the European Music School Union (EMU) elected during their annual meeting on 27 May in Tallinn, Estonia Helena Maffli (Switzerland) as president of the EMU. Paolo Ponzecchi (Italy) was re-elected as vice president.

. Timo Klemettinen (Finland)
. Tomas Kolafa (Czech Republic)
. Willem van Moort (the Netherlands)
. Prof. Ulrich Rademacher (Germany)

The General Assembly appointed departing president Dr. Gerd Eicker as honorary member of the EMU and thanked departing board members Katalin Asztai (Hungary), Marion van der Hoeven (the Netherlands) and Viktor Zadnik (Slovenia) for their tremendous contributions to the EMU.

75 Participants from all over Europe representing 24 National Associations of music schools and music and arts schools attended the 36th Meeting of the EMU General Assembly and Conference ‘The Future of Music Education in Europe – Further Development of Music Schools’  in Tallinn, Estonia from 26 – 29 May 2011. The meeting was organised in close co-operation with the Estonian Association of Music Schools. Read more about the meeting
