Latest News from Culture Action Europe

Dear All, We have decided to use a temporary name for this newsletter: flying website, as an attempt to offer you a selection of our <conceptual and intellectual> three-month home page (and as a transition phase to our next communication tools).

We hope you will enjoy surfing it!

See you next year, the Culture Action Europe Team

  • For the first time, all CAE Members are invited to participate to a Members' Forum (March 12-14) to discuss together the way CAE's strategy can be implemented in a new, collective way.
  • A new collaboration between CAE and Agenda 21 for Culture is in the making. The aim: to ensure that cities, citizens and local governments can be real catalysts for sustainable change.
  • The work on Culture and Wellbeing is progressing: a new experiment will be run together with the European Youth Orchestra in 2015. Moreover, a deep research on the "measurements" issue is about to be finalised as a first step towards a more common understanding (and action) in the field.
  • 10 networks members of CAE are coordinating their effort in terms of planning, communication and resources. A call has been made to study their communication systems and strategy: the deadline to submit a proposal is Dec. 30. To know more, click here.
  • The Arts, Rights and Justice Working Group will meet in January to design and implement its next steps to become a richer and effective community of practitioners.
  • Following its previous involvement in the Eastern Partnership Culture Programme, CAE is working in strengthening more relationships with local governments, cultural operators and citizens in the region.

The CAE team in Brussels is keeping on reshaping itself.

• Senior Policy Advisor Ewa Majczak's collaboration has ended this month - she will focus on finishing her PhD in Oxford (we wish her all the best!)

• After her internship in CAE, Louise Prouteau will be the new Junior Policy Officer

• Sara Cesari has joined the team on a more regular basis as Projects Assistant

• A new internship policy has been issued and a few students will be part of the team in the following months going through a learning programme on Culture, Action and Europe.
