Katia Beaugeais, a French-Australian composer and saxophonist based in Sydney, has won the 2010 ISCM-IAMIC Young Composer Award for her work Sound Box for soprano saxophone. The prize was announced and awarded during a concert of the 2010 World New Music Days at the Campbelltown Arts Centre, Sydney.

The World New Music Days Festival is presented by the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM), an international network of members from around 50 countries devoted to the promotion and presentation of contemporary music, and features new music from around the world. The 2010 festival was the first in the ISCM's 87-year history to be held in the southern hemisphere.
