Selam Cultural Forum II Thursday 10 May 2012 in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia

Selam Cultural Forum is a series of events, organized by Selam Ethiopia.
The intent is to create a platform where discussions concerning the cultural and creative industry will be facilitated by key people and professionals from the cultural sector, as panelists, participants or attendants, moderated by individuals with a deep knowledge on the topics.

Thinking Beyond Piracy; seeing the Ethiopian Intellectual property right in a new light

In order to break the vicissitudes of the discourse of piracy and piracy of intellectual property, the whole workings of the industry need to be viewed with fresh insights and deeper examination. The main objective of this conversation is, therefore, to stimulate discussion amongst stakeholders of the Ethiopian cultural/creative industries and creative economy so that we can charter into new territories of concepts and practices.
