Young Euro Classic

News from the Festival Workshop: Experiencing Culture(s)

Never before has Young Euro Classic featured as many great, internationally celebrated youth orchestras, first-rate conductors and high-carat soloists as in 2016. We can no longer contain our excitement and want to lift the curtain for you already today – at least a bit.
The Festival seasons begins on August 17 with an absolute highlight: the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO). Musicians from all the 28 EU states will raise the Konzerthaus roof under Vasily Petrenko’s baton. As a “cultural ambassador of the EU”, the orchestra presents absolute masterworks: Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D-Major and the Piano Concerto for Two Pianos in E-flat-Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with the sisters Katia and Marielle Labèque at the keyboards.
We celebrate the European Union Youth Orchestra not only as an extraordinary ensemble, but also because it has a birthday! For its 40-year anniversary, Young Euro Classic is honoured to present the birthday party in Berlin: on August 17, 2016 at the Konzerthaus.
What is the sound of Europe? Come hear it for yourself!
