Rineke Smilde spoke in her speech of the changing landscape for today's musicians, and how their education should adapt to give people the new skills that are demanded by the industry, and how this is a life long process of learning and development.

Michael Wimmer of educult spoke of similar issues in music education, stressing that educational establishments need to remember the context in which musical diversity should exist, with a reminder that the artistic element of music education should not be forgotten.

Franz Niermann then presented the findings and conclusions that had been reached during the interactive session on Musical Diversity and Education to the conference delegation, bringing together the ideas brought by Rineke Smilde and Michael Wimmer, as well as the participants who had gathered the previous day.
