The European Forum on Music (EFM): Looking Back – Looking Forward. The Future of Europe’s Musical Roots took place from Thursday, 7 June until Sunday, 10 June 2018 in Oslo/Norway. The EFM, annual conference of the European Music Council (EMC), was hosted by the Norwegian Music Council and is part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
With this edition of the EFM, we looked at the importance and the value of musical heritage for our future European society. Music and intangible heritage in general are confronted with a variety of challenges: from participation and access to music to environmental threats. What is needed today to make sure that we can
still enjoy Europe’s musical roots in the future?
