Reception at the Representation of the State of Hessen to the European Union POSTPONED

With regret, the EMC and Representation of Hessen to the EU have jointly taken the decision to cancel the panel discussion & reception "Music as a cornerstone for EU cultural policy" which was due to take place on Monday, 16 March 2020. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in order to limit the spread of the Corona Virus - COVID19. We plan to hold the event at a later date and we will inform you.
The European Music Council and the Minister for Federal and European Affairs of the State of Hessen Lucia Puttrich cordially invite you to a panel discussion and reception on 16 March 2020 in Brussels at 18:30.
In the field of European cultural policy, the spotlight is currently on the future new Multiannual financial Framework (MFF) and on the new design of “Creative Europe”. This broad EU programme bears great potential for the wider cultural sector and should receive high attention in the next EU budget. As discussions on the MFF are intensifying, there is now an excellent opportunity to make Creative Europe a true European success story. For this to happen, music is key to future cultural policy and offers great chances for the future design of Creative Europe. With numerous activities and political engagement over the last few years, musical actors have stressed their will to upgrade the role of music within European cultural policy. During this event we will therefore discuss the chances of enshrining music in the EU cultural policy and the great potential of music as a driver for change.
The event will be followed by refreshments. Simultaneous interpretation into English/German/Italian.
