European Elections
European Parliament Elections
A new European Parliament will be elected between 23 and 26 May 2019 in all EU Member States. The European Music Council urges all EU citizens to use their democratic right to vote and contribute to ensuring a democratic, free and diverse European Union. Check EMC's campaign to the European Parliamentary elections in May 2019 and use it for your websites, newsletters & social media...
CAE Online Dialogue
Register for the Live Online Dialogue organised by Culture Action Europe on 25 April 2019 which will provide EU citizens the opportunity to discuss with EU policy makers and MEP candidates. From 10:00 - 18:00 issues such as culture, education, youth, sustainability, work and labour conditions, EU values and identities will be discussed in the dialogue.

Call for applications: iPortunus mobility scheme
Are you an artist or culture professional working in visual or performing arts?
i-Portunus is a pilot scheme in Creative Europe testing funding for mobility between 15 and 85 days. This pilot will allow some 350-500 individuals to travel to other countries participating in Creative Europe. i-Portunus will test how to best facilitate cross-border mobility for artists.

Call for applications: Cultural Heritage Forum
The European Commission is looking for 70 individuals and organisations to join the new Cultural Heritage Forum to offer advice and expertise and serve as platform for consultation and exchange of information on cultural heritage policies. Meetings will be held at least once a year to follow up on the implementation of the European Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage. Deadline for applications is 21 May 2019. Survey: Music Observatory
As part of the stakeholder consultation phase of the European Music Observatory study fron the Preparatory Action Music Moves Europe, the consultancy bodies Panteia and KEA would need your views on such a potential observatory.

Copyright Directive adopted
On 15 April 2019, the Copyright Directive was formally adopted by the Council of the European Union, following the European Parliament's vote on 26 March 2019. This final approval concluded the European legistlative process and marks the start of the implementation by all EU Member States.
The EMC was signatory of a joint statement of over 270 organisations to support the Copyright Directive, check it here
