The Music Products Industry supports the 6th IMC World Forum on Music

Meet NAMM - the National Association of Music Merchants

The organisers of the 6th IMC World Forum on Music are pleased to announce that the Forum benefits from a generous contribution offered by NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants.
IMC presents its World Forum on Music (WFM) as a global knowledge-building platform on music and society in the 21st century, which explores a variety of topics from diverse perspectives: cultural, political and economical. The IMC World Forum on Music is considered one of IMC’s main contributions to setting the stage for the free celebration of music in the world. At this year’s 6th edition, speakers and participants from six continents will explore opportunities and challenges around the IMC’s Five Music Rights.
Established in 1901, NAMM is the not-for-profit association that strengthens the $17 billion global music, sound and entertainment technology products industry. Its association and trade shows serve as the crossroads for professionals seeking the newest innovations in music, recording technology, sound and stage products. In addition to access to its trade shows, membership also includes the latest industry news and education, opportunities for music advocacy and cost-saving programs to help businesses thrive. All of these activities and programs are designed to promote music making for people of all ages, creating a more musical world.
One of NAMM’s many goals is to support members with marketing tools and opportunities to participate in federal and community-based advocacy efforts that expand access to music for people of all ages. NAMM is active in public policy advocacy for music education and the right of all children to receive a quality education that includes music.
The International Music Council’s vision and mission closely aligns with NAMM’s own: to encourage people of all ages and abilities to engage in music making of any kind so that they know the joys and benefits doing so; to support and facilitate knowledge to advance music education practice and research, and to create a more musical world. The World Forum of Music is a great gathering of like-minded organisations and networks that supports this vision – and NAMM is honored to be able to continue to support the Forum and the events surrounding it. We look forward to network with all attendees in September”
