IMZ and ITF Golden Prague announced that the Golden Prague Premieres will be continued this year! Screening slots for the Golden Prague Premieres 2013 are offered on Sunday afternoon, 13 October, IMZ members will have the opportunity to present their latest programme to the professional audience of the festival.
The extended deadline for submitting programmes is 20 June 2013!

The 60th International Rostrum of Composers (IRC), a flagship programme of the International Music Council, was held in Prague, from May 28 to 31, 2013. The aim of this competition is to promote contemporary music through broadcasting. In the general category, Not I (2010) for soprano (or mezzo-soprano), chamber ensemble and electronics by Polish composer Agata ZUBEL (born 1978) was selected by the delegates as most outstanding. In the “young composers” category, the work selected as most worthy for worldwide broadcasting was So Very Strange (2013), for electronics by young Icelandic composer Úlfur HANSSON (born 1988).

The European Choral Association – Europa Cantat published a call for a small composition competition in connection with the festival Youth Choirs in Movement in Bonn in July 2013. The competition called for proposals of choral songs using the theme “Singing and Movement” for children and young people, fitting the theme of this festival. 14 compositions from 9 countries were submitted and in May 2013 “The Mock Turtle’s Song” by Chris Artley (UK/NZ) was chosen by the Jury. Here's an interesting opportunity to share your thoughts on European cultural matters: The European Culture Forum 2013 will introduce a new format called "What's your point?". In this session, speakers will be given 5 minutes for an inspirational expression of ideas concerning culture and Europe in front of the 1200 participants of the forum.
