The Culture Sector Platforms are one part within the larger process of structured dialogue between EU institutions, member states and civil society culture sector. The current programmes of the European Union will be effective until 2013. A revision of the EU programmes and the allocated financial budgets are currently discussed and the public consulation process for EU programmes is launched.

Among others the culture programme, youth programme, MEDIA as well as the future education and training programme are included in the consultation process.

The first phase of the implementation of the European Agenda for Culture is closed and the European Commission has published its report
