Training and work session on safer events to prepare a code of conduct

The EMC organised a training and work session on safer events to prepare a code of conduct on 5 and 6 September 2024 in Cologne, Germany. The aim was to raise awareness on the importance of care in our meetings and events, and to collaboratively develop a code of conduct that can be implemented by the EMC and its members.

The work session and training was delivered by Martha Lomelí. A total of 24 participants took part in the work session, including EMC members, the EMC board, and the EMC and IMC teams. Following the session, training material offered by trainer Martha Lomeli was shared with all the participants.

The process of editing the EMC Code of Conduct and EMC Anti-Harassment Protocol was kicked off during the work session and is currently being finalised. The document will be shared with the EMC members and participants to the work session by the end of 2024. The EMC Code of Coduct and Anti-Harassment Protocol will be revised and updated every year at the Annual Meeting of EMC members.
