Summer of Change talks & concerts Bonn 2025

The Summer of Change Festival was initiated by the City of Bonn and is organised in cooperation with numerous cultural institutions with a programme highlighting the topic of ecological responsibility. The EMC is happy to join alba Kultur and other local and regional partners in its home city of Bonn to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The cooperation partners are the German Commission for UNESCO, ARTpolis Community Arts & Music Lab BIM e.V., Brotfabrik Bonn, Klimaviertel Bonn Beuel and Bonn Medinghoven, Netzwerk Klangkosmos NRW.

Creole Island Music and Climate Change

The event will focus on the situation of the Small Island States (AOSIS) using the example of the islands of the Indian Ocean (Mauritius, Reunion, Comoros, Madagascar) and the implementation of the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Mobility of Artists and Preferential Cultural Treatment for Artists from the Global South (§16) as well as the eco-responsibility of the music scene.

Bukhara for Fair Culture

The event will focus on fair remuneration and humane working conditions for all artists, fair cultural cooperation with the Global South using the example of Central Asia. These are tasks in the implementation of the 2005 UNESCO Convention, which are specified in the Fair Culture Charter.
