EMC Webinar on EU Cultural Policy
26 June 2024, 11.00 - 12.30 CEST
The next cultural policy webinar with follow-ups will take place on 2 October 2024 (please note the change in date!) Just after the elections to the European Parliament, the European Music Council (EMC) offered a webinar on EU cultural policy on 26 June 2024. What is the EU’s mandate when it comes to culture and music? What are the policy frameworks? And what is the role of the EU member states, the European Parliament and the European Commission? This webinar provides an overview of the relevant actors and stakeholders in EU cultural policy – from EU institutions to cultural networks. It had a look on how the results of the European elections may have an impact on current policy issues. We talked about the policies that provide the framework of the EU’s actions on cultural policy – the New European Agenda for Culture and the Council Work Plan on Culture – and highlighted other current policy developments. |
