Webinar on UNESCO Framework for Culture and Arts Education

The webinar “Decoding the UNESCO Framework for Culture and Arts Education: perspectives for the music ecosystem”, organised by the International Music Council (IMC) in close cooperation with the EMC, aimed to decode and unpack this highly dense and multidimensional document. A conscious choice was made to extend the analysis beyond the EU context, in order to offer the audience a diverse range of perspectives.

Following an introduction by the IMC - presentation available here - and a presentation by a UNESCO representative, speakers from member- and non-member organisations, representing academia and practitioners working in formal, non-formal and informal settings, from Mexico to Denmark to France to Mozambique to Senegal, shared their insights regarding aspects and relevance of this new UNESCO instrument.

The IMC presented the Framework also at the Annual Congress of the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC) in Milan in November 2024. The presentation can be consulted here.
