Musical Reception at the European Parliament

On 11 October the EMC held a musical reception at the European Parliament hosted by MEP Julie Ward. In her passionate speech Julie emphasised the importance of the direct exchange between persons for intercultural dialogue. Her Parliament report on the role of intercultural dialogue, cultural diversity and education in promoting EU fundamental values uses an integrated approach, not separating culture, education, youth and active citizenship into four different fields of action but building bridges and synergies between all those elements.

Julie Ward was joined by Martine Reicherts - Director General for Education and Culture at the European Commission - who likewise shared a personal experience that demonstrated the value of personal exchange for intercultural dialogue.

The musical frame for the reception was provided by SoulTMusiq.

We thank everybody who shared this experience with us.
