National/Specialised Music Organisation

As the oldest and largest arts centre in Belgium, the Centre for Fine Arts is intended to be the model for the European cultural centre of the 21st century. The overarching BOZAR cultural project combines the work of a dynamic concert and exhibition venue with the underpinning of multidisciplinary projects including music, cinema, theatre, dance, literature, arts & science, architecture and conferences & debates. Starting out from this central artistic mission, BOZAR wants to become an agora dedicated to cultural and social developments.

In the past ten years the Centre for Fine Arts has been transformed into a multidisciplinary house of culture and debate with an intercultural mandate. Today, it welcomes more than 1.3 million visitors to approximately 13,000 events each year. As part of this transformation, BOZAR has become an arts organization with an international scope, a European orientation and an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit. It is a driving force behind international artistic initiatives designed to strengthen ties in Europe and with other continents and maintains a continuous dialogue of global artistic exchange presenting its outcomes to the European citizens, policy- and decision-makers.

BOZAR collaborates with over 700 partners from across the world each year for cocreations, co-productions and co-presentations. To consolidate its international outreach and mission, BOZAR is likewise involved in different European and global artistic networks such as Europa Nostra, EUNIC, Cultural Action Europe, ICOM, IMC-EMC, ECHO, EFA, REMA, ENCATC. This allows to offer a deep cultural expertise on local, European and international projects and a transversal vision of the projects gathering different art disciplines.
