Reimagine International Touring - The Perform Europe Guidebook

Through its second edition, Perform Europe supported 42 projects that experimented with new approaches to cross-border touring. Their experiences – from ambitions and challenges to practical solutions – are now brought together in a new publication ‘Reimagine International Touring’, divided into volumes that address different stakeholders.

Volume 1 – The Perform Europe Guidebook 

The Guidebook explores the ambitions that shaped the Perform Europe projects, the challenges they encountered, and the strategies and tools they developed along the way. By connecting these experiences to wider organisational and policy contexts, it highlights how everyday touring practices relate to broader changes in the sector. It invites readers to reflect on their own role in shaping touring models that are slower where needed, fairer where access is limited, and stronger in defending the values that underpin cultural exchange in Europe.

Volume 2 – Levers for Future Policy Development 

The second volume addresses policymakers to explore recent developments, emerging risks, and potential leverage points to better support transformative touring practices in the performing arts.

Alongside these publications, the Perform Europe Toolbox offers practical resources, methods and templates for those interested in rethinking touring in their own context.
