REMA Studies 2024 - Making early music today: The forces at work

"Making early music today: The forces at work" offers a timely snapshot of the early music sector as it stands in 2024, shedding light on the key traits, challenges, and aspirations of its actors today. Thanks to the participation of around 80 organisations —most of which REMA members— across 17 countries this study reflects a broad and dynamic range of voices from ensembles, festivals, concert halls, and other organisations operating in early music.

This publication is not only a resource for reflection, but also a tool for action—highlighting opportunities for growth and collaboration, both within REMA and beyond.

In order to better know the sector, its specificities, and to better advocate for it, REMA is conducting a set of studies addressed to member and non-member organisations. Each year is focusing on a specific aspect, and having a look at the evolution of the sector.
