11 years after the online publication of the report Artists’ mobility and visas: a step forward, On the Move decided, as part of the EU co-funded Deconfining project, to produce another report on the still complex issues of the visa process with a particular focus on the African continent and the Schengen Code of visas (Visa Code).

The EMEE report, “Music Export Development in Europe” (Volume 1), authored by Virgo Sillamaa, provides a comprehensive analysis of 29 European music export organisations. The Survey – Facts and figures of live music venues and clubs in Europe
Live DMA collects data of the venues and clubs part of the network every year, in order to monitor the situation of the live music sector in Europe. This observation work is a great tool to better understand the functioning of European live music scenes.
Implementing steps to develop and promote European music export
This report comes as a result of the EMX project, implemented by a consortium led by MICA including EMEE and six of its members. The EMX project’s activities included developing and piloting a European music export capacity building program, undertaking digital and physical trade missions, planning an incoming delegation tour, and piloting a version of a European Music Export Resource Center. The report details the results of these pilots and makes recommendations for future implementation.
