Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on music venues and clubs in Europe
Live DMA presents the key numbers in various publications since 2013, including recent reports on COVID-19 pandemic effects for music venues and clubs in 2020 and 2021, compared to the 2019 numbers. The data results are important for the representation of the live music venues and clubs on a local, regional, national, and European level. It helps policy makers to understand the role, capacities, and values of these live music entities.
Status and working conditions of artists and cultural professionals
This report is the result of a dialogue between representatives of the cultural and creative sector and the European Commission in which the EMC and several of its members were actively involved. In its five chapters, the report lists a number of recommendations and best practice examples on topics such as legal status, recognition, social security, fair pay and more.
Your guide to music and the SDGs
Written in collaboration with UN Agencies, the detailed Guide outlines the role that music plays across each of the 17 Goals through examples from around the world. It demonstrates that an intentional, deliberate investment in music – across education, well-being, economic growth, sustainable urbanisation and human development – produces a return on investment across a number of SDG targets and indicators.
Toward gender equality in the cultural and creative sectors
This report focuses on the role that culture plays in promoting gender equality and, more importantly, how to achieve gender equality within the cultural and creative sectors (CCS). Gender equality is a core value of the EU fundamental rights and a key principle of the European Pillar of Social Rights. It is also a precondition for cultural diversity. The promotion of gender equality and the fight against gender discrimination are twin goals of the EU, including in culture.
Rebuilding Europe – The cultural and creative economy before and after the COVID-19 crisis
The European Commission has been seeking insights on how to make its programmes more sustainable. In 2021, it commissioned the study “Greening the Creative Europe programme” to help achieve its objectives of fighting climate change and to support its efforts to make the Creative Europe Programme more environmental-friendly.
