Music Atlas
The Music Atlas of the German Music Information Centre reveals the topography of musical life with locations and other features. Freely selectable categories make the infrastructure of different sub-sectors of the music landscape visible: whether musical education and training, performance venues, media or companies in the music industry.

Live music venues & clubs in Europe face rising costs amid pandemic recovery
This report highlights how rising costs are creating significant challenges for live music venues and clubs across Europe. A key concern is that venues, particularly privately-owned ones, are being compelled to scale back on innovative and diverse programming to remain financially viable. As a result, emerging artists, niche genres, and experimental performances are often sidelined in favor of more commercially profitable acts, leading to a decline in the sector's cultural diversity.
Audiovisual Composers’ Contracts - Current Practices, Challenges and Recommendations
Composers' contracts constitute the first link between their art and creativity and the exploitation of their works, setting out the rights and responsibilities of the composers and their contractual counterparts. In the audiovisual industry, the secrecy surrounding contractual practices as well as the absence of comprehensive legal or contractual guidance places these creators in vulnerable positions, especially when negotiating with large production companies or platforms with substantial bargaining power.
Fostering Gender Equality among Music Creators
In November 2024, ECSA published its Report on Gender Equality: "Fostering Gender Equality among Music Creators”, written in collaboration with its Working Group on Diversity and Inclusion. Drawing on past efforts and initiatives from both within and beyond ECSA’s membership, the report provides seven recommendations for enhancing gender equality and stimulate discussions.
