Fostering Gender Equality among Music Creators
In November 2024, ECSA published its Report on Gender Equality: "Fostering Gender Equality among Music Creators”, written in collaboration with its Working Group on Diversity and Inclusion. Drawing on past efforts and initiatives from both within and beyond ECSA’s membership, the report provides seven recommendations for enhancing gender equality and stimulate discussions.

What positive developments and negative trends can be observed in the promotion and protection of artistic freedom? How do donors, international organisations, and civil society organisations (CSOs) understand the current challenges they face and the fragility of this interdependency? Which gaps exist, and what is needed to address them?
Study on contractual practices affecting the transfer of copyright and related rights and the ability of creators and producers to exploit their rights
In order to exercise their rights, authors and performers typically transfer those rights to third parties. The rules and practices governing such transfers vary across Member States (MS) and sectors (i.e. music, audiovisual, visual arts, literary works or videogames).
Festivals im Fokus: Erste genreübergreifende Studie beleuchtet Vielfalt und Herausforderungen der Musikfestivals
In Deutschland finden regelmäßig rund 1.800 Musikfestivals statt – von Klassik über Rock, Pop und Jazz bis hin zu Elektronik, Folk und Neuer Musik. Eine neue bundesweite Studie liefert erstmals repräsentative Daten zu Struktur, Finanzierung und gesellschaftlicher Bedeutung dieser einzigartigen Kulturlandschaft. Die Studie ist ein gemeinsames Projekt der Initiative Musik, der Bundesstiftung LiveKultur und des Deutschen Musikinformationszentrums. Die Erhebung wurde durchgeführt vom Institut für Demoskopie Allensbach.

This research collected a substantial set of data from the EJN membership about number and typology of concerts organised each year, support to local artists and typology of other activities, audience numbers, voluntary and paid staff, sources of income and major expenditures.
Data Collection and Analysis of Environmentally Sustainable Practices & Needs in Higher Music Education Institutions
The ARTEMIS AEC Goes Green WG concluded the findings from the online surveys on green and eco-sustainable practices and needs conducted among the members of the AEC between April and September 2023.
